The Youth Facilities are non-residential community-based, multi-purpose, safe, youth-friendly spaces in which young people, between the ages of 12-29 years within a specific catchment area meet and participate in a range of youth development programmes and activities, e.g. cultural, recreational, sporting, educational, technological, social, entrepreneurial, religious, health related/prevention activities, etc. These programmes and services are developed based on consultation.
The Facilities, which serve the needs of the target group of young people, youth leaders, youth workers, and persons interested in youth development within a specific catchment area/community, are located in the following geographic areas; St. James, Basilon Street, Laventille, Malick, California and Los Bajos.
Some Facilities have partnership arrangements to deliver programmes with the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute (TTHTI), YTEPP and East Port of Spain Development Company.
The Facilities are also available for conferences, seminars, meetings and other programmes and activities conducted by youth and community organizations. For example, award functions, graduation ceremonies, weddings, etc.
The Youth Facilities are managed by Facility Managers and Assistant Facility Managers. Some of the Facilities have Advisory Boards.
