The YRIC is a unique, innovative youth friendly facility/space with computers, study areas, meeting/training rooms, and comfortable areas for conversations/ discourse. Branded in vibrant colours that appeal to young people, the atmosphere is informal, the furniture modern and the space is decorated with paintings, artwork, posters and prevention messages aimed at youth.
In this comfortable, confidential and non-judgmental environment, young people and youth workers are provided with youth related information.
The YRICs also:
- empower young people to make informed choices
- enable young people and youth development workers to embrace, access and utilize technology for their personal and professional development
- provide young people with guidance, counselling and advice on relevant matters

Programmes and services offered include internet access, access to computers to do School based Assessmets (SBA's), Internal Assessments (IA's) and other school projects, access to youth-related resources and information, access to a psychologically and physically safe and supportive space and use of the facility for meetings, lecture presentations, seminars, workshops, exhibitions/displays, after-school support, personal development and professional development (youth work/social work).
The Ministry currently operates four (4) Youth Resource and Information Centres in the District Offices at Woodbrook, Princes Town, Point Fortin and Rio Claro.
