The Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs will give the opening remarks on Saturday, 12th November at 9:00am at the Cocoyea Community Swimming Pool to declare the pool open on Saturdays to the public.
The Pool is located at St. Andrews Park West, Cocoyea Village, San Fernando and provides “Learn to Swim” courses (with beginner, intermediate and advanced classes), Lifesaving, Recreational Swimming and Water Aerobics.
It is maintained by professional, friendly and courteous staff that upholds the highest levels of safety and hygienic pool conditions.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs maintains five other swimming pools located in Diego Martin, Sangre Grande, La Horquetta, Couva and Siparia. The Diego Martin Pool was the first to be opened on weekends to the public four months ago and plans are being worked on to open the other pools on weekends.
Scheduled to attend the opening is the Member of Parliament for San Fernando East and Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Randall Mitchell; and the former Mayor for San Fernando, Kazim Hosein.
