The Honourable Darryl Smith, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, extended an invitation to Lillyann Williams and Miss Diego Martin, Gabriella Osuna, to join him in the Minister's box at the Hasely Crawford Stadium to support Trinidad and Tobago in their World Cup qualifier match. Trinidad and Tobago faced off against Costa Rica in their CONCACAF Final Group Stage match on home soil.
Lillyann Williams has inspired many with her act of kindness, assisting a disabled customer while at her job at JTA's Cross Crossing. Lillyann said that this was the first time she had been to a national game at the stadium and that it was a pleasure to meet the Prime Minister and other Government Ministers.
Gabriella Osuna is the reigning Miss Diego Martin; the Miss Diego Martin pageant is hosted by the Honourable Minister in his capacity as MP for Diego Martin Central. Gabriella thanked Minister Smith for the invitation and the opportunity to make an appearance as Miss Diego Martin at the game.
It has become a tradition of the Minister to invite youth to view football matches from his corporate booth. Minister Smith believes in the words “next to excellence is the appreciation of it.”
