The management and staff of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and the Honourable Darryl Smith extend condolences to the Ruiz family on the passing of their loved one.
Minister Smith expressed that Ruiz left an ineffaceable mark and will always be remembered for the contributions she made to the Special Olympics of Trinidad and Tobago and sport as a whole. He said that purpose in life rests within being honourable, serving others in love and making a difference in whatever area of life. Ruiz exemplified this.
Grace Ruiz, served the athletes of the Special Olympics of Trinidad and Tobago for over 30 years. She worked tirelessly to meet the needs of athletes. Ruiz also served as the Chairperson of the Volunteers Committee. She dedicated her time to ensure that there were trained personnel to serve athletes at Games. Her dedication will always be remembered.
Our prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time.
