The management and staff of the Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs and the Honourable Darryl Smith extend condolences to the Bartholomew family on the passing of their loved one.

Minister Smith expressed that Prince Bartholomew has left an indelible mark in West Indies Cricket. He stated that Bartholomew was an outstanding sportsman leading his team to victory on several occasions. He said that he also coached and mentored a number of young players which has be integral in the longevity and development of the sport. He voiced that our nation needs more sportsmen like Bartholomew that are willing to devote their time in mentoring our nation’s youth and serving others. The purpose of life is to serve, to be honourable, to be compassionate, to make a difference and to live well.

Former National Cricket Captain Prince Bartholomew died at the age of 77. He dedicated his time in serving others and will be remembered for his hard work and contributions to the sport.

Our prayers and thoughts are with the family at this time. May his soul rest in peace.
