(L-R) Mr. Christopher Thompson – Coordinator, Community Recovery Committee; Ms. Danielle Blaize - Animator and Illustrator; Leonardo DeSilva – Graphic Creator, MYDNS; Lisandra Thompson - Marketing and Public Relations Officer, NLCB; Camille Selvon Abrahams – Programme Coordinator, Animation Studies, UTT; Hayden Roberts – Graphic Design Entrepreneur discuss the submissions at the judging of the Logo Competition

A winning logo has been selected for the Community Recovery Committee. The design was selected on Monday 18th January, 2021 by 6 judges who assessed the logo design entries at the Head Office, Ministry of Youth Development and National Service. The Community Recovery Committee launched its Logo Design Competition in December 2020 and invited residents of East Port-of-Spain between the ages of 12 and 29 years to design the official logo for the Committee.

“I was very moved by the fact that the designs came from the community. I saw potential and can visualize these young people at the university doing their degrees or their diplomas. Projects like this Logo Competition are a wonderful platform to empower young people to dig deep and see their worth and skills,” said Camille Selvon Abrahams, Programme Coordinator for Animation Studies, University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT).

Entrants were encouraged to base their designs on three pillars: ReInvest, ReImagine and ReCover and the final judging was based on the criteria of Originality/Creativity; Design Concept; Rationale and Presentation. The judges on the team were Camille Selvon Abrahams, Programme Coordinator for Animation Studies, University of Trinidad and Tobago; Lisandra Thompson - Marketing and Public Relations Officer, National Lotteries Control Board; Ramon Granderson – Digital Marketing Manager; Danielle Blaize - Animator and Illustrator; Hayden Roberts – Graphic Design Entrepreneur and Leonardo DeSilva – Graphic Creator Designer, Ministry of Youth Development and National Service.

Prizes sponsored by the National Lotteries Control Board, The University of Trinidad and Tobago and Unicomer will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners. Winners of the competition will be announced in the Logo Competition Prize Giving Ceremony which is scheduled to take place in February, 2021.
