As students return to school September 7th, the Honourable Phillip Watts, Minister of Sport and Youth Affairs, extends heartfelt best wishes to all children and young people for a safe, productive and successful academic term.
Minister Watts recently joined the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) and bp Trinidad and Tobago (bpTT) at the CPL SchoolYard Back-to-School Programme, held at the Queen’s Park Oval.
The initiative provided 28 children with an exciting opportunity to meet TKR players, participate in engaging cricket activities, and receive backpacks, school supplies and vouchers to help prepare them for the new school term.
Minister Watts encouraged students to embrace the term ahead with discipline, confidence and determination, reminding them that success is achieved through commitment, hard work and belief in their own potential.
The Ministry of Sport and Youth Affairs commends CPL, TKR and bpTT for their continued investment in young people and for using sport as a meaningful platform to support education, inspire positive values and strengthen communities.
